Hi mums,
We are preparing for nursery, and all the recommendations for puddle suits are for a brand called muddy puddles, they seem great and super waterproof; they are, however, quite pricey...
Do you recommend splashing out to make sure yoir babies stay warm and dry? Or would you say generally cheaper brands do the job too?
I have no budget exactly, I just wonder if its worth investing or not :) (the cheaper the better;))
Thank you!!

I work in a nursery and unless your baby is under 2 puddle suits are awful because they can’t put them on themselves. I would just get a regular puddle suit, we use super cheap ones as a stock at work and I’ve never seen one leak through. You can also get the water proof pants with elastic suspenders that go over shoulders and a normal rain coat x

I’m in Canada but I’m guessing you mean these waterproof onesie suits with the two zippers up the front? If so we love ours and bought a cheaper brand, only paid about $20CAD for it. We bought it slightly large which because of the design wasn’t an issue at all and he’s used it at least 2 years now.

We have had the ones from M&S and they are great quality, wash really nicely and have the right amount of fleece inside to keep them warm but not sweaty! I would size up with them though as the elastic on the wrists and ankles keep them in place so you can get longer out of them skipping a size ☺️

We use M&S ones and have done since she turned 1, never had an issue with them 🥰

Check on Vinted, its where we get ours from. Our current ones are Wet Wednesdays, previously used Go Soaky, and they are actually waterproof. Our LG goes to a forest school nursery and loves water so will literally lie in a big puddle if you give her the chance. So many puddlesuits are made of the 'rainjacket/tent' material which will just soak through, so definitely look for properly waterproof. Waterproof dungarees and coats also work well but we found they could be a little too bulky and she found it hard to sit up properly in them. I also recommend Playshoes waterproof booties/shoe covers if little one is crawling or early walking, again Vinted is good to keep an eye on. They're much better than wellies as they actually stay put and fully enclose the foot/ankle when crawling and easier to walk in than bulky wellies for early walkers.
