NNUH Glucose test

Anyone who’s had their glucose test at Norfolk and Norwich how much blood do they take and how long were you up there for it as I’ve got mine Thursday and I’m terrified because of them drawing blood😅

1 vial prior, sugary drink and wait like 2 hours, then another vial afterwards

I had mine done there for my previous pregnancy. Get there early as I got directed to a different area where they were holding the tests (not what was stated on the invite). There was about 3 people all booked in for the same time when I went. I’m glad I turned up early as I didn’t have to wait and went in first.

They took 1 vile of blood before and after, I believe it was 2ml each time. The drink tasted like flat sprite to me. You have to return for your second blood test after 2 hours. They told me not to leave the waiting room unless accompanied due to the risk of a reaction to the glucose drink (e.g., dizziness).

They just asked a few questions and overall it was very quick. Just a little annoying that you have to wait around for 2 hours.

I took my yellow notes with me but didn’t need them.

I’ve had the absolute roughest day, she would not settle for longer than 30mins all day and has screamed, absolutely screamed like she’s never screamed before.

Failed my glucose test 😭

My numbers are a clear fail & I don’t feel necessary in doing the 3hour test..I honestly don’t think I can make it that long without eating..

Short cervix

Has anyone got a short cervix? If so, any advice to keep calm. I had a normal cervix with my first, then had a leepz treatment due to precancerous cells and being told I have a borderline ok cervix for this pregnancy so they will be doing more monitoring!

How quick did people get results for the Down’s, Edwards’ and Patau’s syndromes 12 week test?

We were told we’d get a letter if low risk or a call if high risk, how quick did people get results?

Antibodies during glucose test

I’m currently pregnant and just had a glucose test this morning. I received a call informing me that some antibodies were detected, and I’ll need to undergo further blood tests. This has made me quite anxious. When I asked about the specific antibodies, they mentioned they couldn’t identify them, which is why additional testing is necessary.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Thank you!
