I would say have your hospital bag ready. I am an over packer but I would say the essentials are comfy outfit for you, going home outfit for baby (hospital will likely give you onesie, hat, blanket for baby), anything you want to help you with Labor (I just use what the hospital offers like pillow, blanket, socks, birthing tools, etc but others like to bring their own). Folder for papers. Long charging cord. Slippers and/or shower shoes.

Also if you have pets have a plan for someone on call to take care of them.

Hospital bag packed and ready for mom and baby (I would grab a few premature items just to be safe.. outfits diapers if you don’t want to use the hospital supplied brand etc)

Make sure you have all important documents and everything you will need packed and ready as well

Base installed in the car (leave the car seat in the house until you go into labor)

Practice calm breathing and try to reduce as much stress as you can because that can also induce labor! If you are trying to avoid it as much as it may suck for some people I would go ahead and do pelvic rest! (If not total pelvic rest I would at least limit it as much as you can)

I know it’s scary but I have had a shortened cervix since 20 weeks and have been at risk for preterm labor since and I am 28 weeks today (but they were able to catch mine and place a cerclage so that’s a little different)

And of course what they always say.. make sure you drink as much water as you can and rest as much as you can!

I’m sorry that you’re going through this. I just had to have my baby on the 23rd. He was only 28w1d. If you do end up delivering shortly, I would also prepare yourself for a lengthy nicu stay. That’s what I’m going through right now. I had nothing prepared. Get your hospital bag ready, get your jobs prepared. I was not prepared for anything.

Nursing pillow

Hello, 37 weeks here and starting to overthink everything I've prepared (or not) for the baby. We haven't got a nursing pillow yet, but I now wonder if it is something that we should consider buying? I'm planning to breastfeed and this is our first baby, so all still very abstract to us.
Do you have one? How are you finding it?

HEART BEAT

I’m 8 weeks pregnant and my baby’s heart beat is 142bpm. What was your baby’s heart beat around this time and did you conceive a boy or a girl? 🩷💙

Fear of birth

Okay, I’m gonna be real with you ladies, I’m the biggest wimp in this world.
I literally am terrified of everything, any type of pain etc.
My brain also catastrophises and makes me focus on the negative stories I’ve heard of birth and postpartum so all day every day I’m replaying the worst case scenario in my head, even before pregnancy.

Those of you who have given birth before, are there any tips or tricks you could give a first timer? Anything I need to be aware of? Did you have an amazing birth and postpartum?

I think I’m afraid I won’t be able to cope once we come home, everyone always talks about PPD and not coping and my brain keeps going over and over it.

Thanks! 💙

anyone else terrified of having sex again?

I was bleeding so heavy on my first period and a pad was not enough, but I still can’t even get a tampon in. and if I cant get a tampon in then… how am I meant to have sex😫

I had a C-Section so I have no damage/tearing down there to be worried about.

My partner is so supportive and patient and doesn’t mind at the moment, but I still feel bad!

Anyone else in the same boat?

Waiting for baby!

My due date was yesterday. I’m a FTM so knew it was likely that baby would go overdue but feeling a bit defeated that I will probably be having baby in May rather than April. Especially since I’ve been in false labour since 35 weeks.

Myself & my partner are getting constant messages asking “any signs” and giving “tips” which is making it worse.

Anyone else in this situation? Just wanted to vent a bit and see if anyone’s in the same boat!
