Pregnant and smoking?

I’ve seen so many posts talking about if it’s okay to smoke while pregnant or not? Can someone explain it to me please. I am pregnant and it helped with my nausea before I was pregnant and helps me focus as well. But I get worried about it now. And especially with my first appointment being next week and I’ve been around people that are smoking and also I smoked a lot and then that same week I found out. But I believe it’s still in my system. If they urine test me, what will happen? I’m in MD as well idk if laws are that different. (I didn’t smoke at all my first pregnancy when I found out. But this is my second and I’m still nervous about it)

There could be so many negative effects to your baby if you smoke while being pregnant. When my friend was pregnant she smoked throughout her pregnancy and her kid was nonverbal for the first 4 1/2 years of his life and he still has problems to this day. I really don’t recommend it. Some doctors okay it if you have really bad nausea but I’m pretty sure they don’t recommend continuing to smoke after the first trimester and to only do it when you’re super nauseated. But in my personal opinion and with what I’ve whitenessed, I really think it’s best to just wait it out until you’re not pregnant anymore (which is what I’m doing)

For the first visit, it should be fine you didnt know.....dont smoke during. it's not good for the baby, and there are other ways to be less nauseous. As long as you're not in a hot boxed room, you should be ok.

I smoked for the first 3 month but I won’t inhale for long and I stopped because I was scared for my baby but he ok and he has myotonic dystrophy it’s a genetic mutation but he’s fine his only problem is myotonic oxygen and can swallow liquid but he’s good and that wasn’t from smoking but I started smoking again a week or two after birth
