Should I get a second opinion with a different OB

My OB which is only a NP the only one with available appointments has been telling me I’m gaining too much weight in my pregnancy. I’m 24 weeks and have gained 20 pounds so far. I’m gaining about 2 pounds a week started at 98 pounds in the beginning and I’m now at 119. She says I need to slow it down and that I’m putting myself at risk for gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, and c-section from a big baby. Mind u my pregnancy has no risks is perfectly healthy. At my anatomy scan my baby measured in the 64 percentile for weight. I’m stressed out because of this and she didn’t give me any suggestions on how to not gain weight fast. Yet I have had other moms tell me not to worry because they gained so much and had no issues. Should I find a new OB or be concerned about my weight if so any suggestions.

You’re suppose to gain more weight when you’re considered “underweight” pre pregnancy which I assume you were or at least close. I was 100lbs pre pregnancy, 60lbs gained and my weight was never negatively brought up by my dr 🤷‍♀️

Yea I was very under weight because I had Hyperemesis in my first trimester and couldn’t keep anything down for almost 3 weeks. She even said people would think she’s crazy for saying I’m gaining too much. Idk if this thinking is a bit outdated she is an older women. I heard that gestational diabetes and preeclampsia is due to genes and the man’s sperm.
