Hiya fellow stoners I am asking for advice from those who know better than I do and have been through it! I am first trimester and can stop smoking cigarettes and alcohol with ease but I am struggling with weed so much. I feel really guilty and wanted to know…
what worked for you to help you stop?
how long did you continue smoking into pregnancy and how was your baby?
I really appreciate your tips and responses 💕

The following day once I found out I was pregnant I realized my upstairs neighbors smoked so I asked if they wanted my weed and that day I just stopped smoking lol

Honestly I smoked my whole pregnancy … some people may judge but it helped me eat etc and honestly it’s my body and I felt like my baby was okay . I always felt movement and interactive with my belly This is also my second pregnancy smoking . I actually smoked the day before having my 2nd baby and she is as healthy as can be doing wonderful with her growing .

But best advice if you feel as you should stop get rid of the extra you have . So it doesn’t temp you to keep going depending on how much you smoke the headache and emotions are going to happen . Take a shower lay down go to sleep

Out of sight out of mind. Kind of. Get all your pipes, pot, grinders, etc out of the house. Dust like company is coming to get all the little specs out so you don’t have to see it. If your SO smokes — make them do it outside and when you’re sleeping. Remind them if you can’t have fun — no one is having fun. Do a loose hobby. You’ll make it. I missed pot when I was pregnant and breastfeeding but it’s livable. The only thing was I often stared at shady alcoves on my outings and sigh. “That would’ve been a nice place for a joint.”

the last bit that you said, I relate to so much.

I smoked my first trimester and my OB highly recommended I stop, so I did. Currently breastfeeding and still sober, but every now and then I get the urge. What helps me is looking at my baby. Idk if it will affect him or not but I don’t want to risk it.
I do wonder about my own health and how it may have affected me. I started smoking pretty early in life and I always wonder if I would’ve been better off without it.
I’ve also read some articles on it and how it can affect the brain. Dr. Amen has some interesting information on it.

You just stop. I bought a giant sack the day before I found out I was pregnant and immediately sold it back lol. Packed up all my smoking utensils and hid away anything that reminded me of those days. I looked at my belly and knew it was a good decision. The hardest part for me was honestly while I was breastfeeding. She wasn't in my belly anymore so I felt like it couldn't hurt, but I already came so far I didn't want to ruin that progress. I had to quit some of my maintenance medications for my ulcerative colitis as well as I wasn't sure of the effects long term plus my muscle relaxers for my sciatica when weed wouldn't work. It wasn't easy but lo and behold she naturally weaned herself from the breast at 8 months and Im able to get back to me again. There just isn't enough information on the ramifications of what thc does to a baby's brain development so I didn't want to take a single chance. Just think of it as a really stellar tolerance break. It'll be so much cheaper when you do get back to it lol
