I pumped for like a month and because of the nicu they also supplemented with formula or donor milk so then after we just stuck with formula. If you are going to pump I suggest the medela swing or the new electric ones, I had success with it and I had difficulty with supply too. — my triplets are now 4 months (3 months corrected) and hitting all their milestones like a singleton, so don’t put pressure on having to pump if you really can’t, we can only do our best!

I exclusively pumped for 7 months and 3 months in this time. I couldn't get along with any of the traditional plug in ones myself and have an Elvie now which is amazing. They are pricey but loads of second hand ones around. Haven't tried the M6. Everyone says the in-bra ones don't empty you properly and you need a plug-in to do at least one good clear out a day, which may be true for some people, but isn't the case for me.
If you are feeling firm at the start of a feed and soft by the end then it's doing its job. I tend to check about halfway through and do some gentle compressions where I feel there's still firmness.
