Never read a book
My husband has never ever read a book, he’s open to trying but thinks he may find it boring.
How can I work out the best book for him to read ? He loves football but I think a fiction book over non fiction may be better

A memoir from his favorite athlete or coach might be a great start!
If he wants to go fantasy, I would say dungeon crawler Carl. It’s funny and video game like

Fantasy with comedy: dungeon crawler Carl.
Epic fantasy: "Mistborn"
Scifi: "red rising" or "project hail mary"
Grimdark fantasy with war & chinese mythology: "the poppy war"
Time travel & History: "11/22/63"
I once recommended a political thriller to a then boyfriend’s dad. He also liked football and didn’t read. I can’t remember the title of the first book I recommended but he went on to read The Terminal List by Jack Carr and was on a roll. Action packed like a movie.
