Gestational diabetes testing!

I refused to drink the glucose syrup stuff because I’ve suffered with HG since I was 6 weeks and KNEW I wasn’t going to be able to fast or keep it down.

I refused the test in my other pregnancies but this time, I said I’d only do it by doing the finger prick test- and I was happy to pay to do it.

They obliged, and so today I start the monitoring!
Omg, 4 pricks to the finger for 5 days and I’m so glad I opted for this because it does not hurt one bit!!!
Nor do I have to spend a day in hospital 😂

My midwife at my booking appointment said the syrup was the only way to do the test but I knew it wasn’t… 😏

As someone that has tried testing this way and will be going in for the glucose test that also had HG at the start the glucose test is 100% much better and well worth doing it the testing is alot better and can give you the definite answer to if you have it or not, it's better to have one drink and afew hours in hospital that will let you know if you do or not you need to not vape smoke or eat anything but drink water your body needs to be clear of everything for the rest to work efficiently and you should consider doing it you'll only risk baby and yourself if you don't

With my first I did the test and due to an error I had to home test anyway, so opted to go straight for at home testing and I am so glad.

Hope you have a good 5 days!

Uncomfortable

Anyone else just so uncomfortable now? I’m sure we all are but I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t think I’d be in this much pain 😂.
I’m 34 weeks tomorrow and it’s so much effort to do ANYTHING in this heavily pregnant body. I feel like I’m not ready for baby girl to come but also, I’m so sick of being pregnant 😂.

3 weeks early!

The second really does come faster! My baby girl arrived this morning about 11 am, just 10 mins after arriving at labor & delivery. I was having contractions all night and by the time we arrived at the hospital I was 10cm and ready to push. It was never my plan to have an unmedicated birth but here we are! I had a normal, healthy pregnancy but wasnt due untill the 27th. I would have been 37 weeks tomorrow. No real rhyme or reason why baby girl was "early" except that she was ready 🥰
