Advice/rant - I don’t even know!
Is anyone else in this position at all?
I work 4.5 full days, with one afternoon off a week as that’s all my work would allow. I finish at 12:45 pick son up from nursery at 1 but he usually naps when home until 3. So by the time he’s woken up, nappy changed and had a snack and if we want to go anywhere, most places are shut and then we don’t have long before we have to be back for dinner.
I feel the time being at home 1-3 whilst he’s napping pointless as I’m not being paid and I’m not spending time with my son and then get so sad that we just stay in and play with the same old toys we do usually and he ends up whingey, we may get out for a walk for a bit if the weathers good.
I really wanted to have quality time with my son but I get so demoralised by these afternoons. We’ve tried to do things straight from nursery with a short nap in the car but he just ends up so ratty. He won’t sleep earlier at nursery as they do lunch at 12!

I work 3.5 days. But put my half day as the afternoon, meaning we go out in the morning then my little boy has his nap while I start working and my mum comes over for when he wakes up
