That skill alone is not an autistic thing, but many autistic kids do show a strong interest in colors. For some context, my son who is autistic and nonverbal can’t name colors verbally obviously, but was able to start sorting things in rainbow order and sorting by color. He became hyperfixated on doing it with almost everything from a young age without being shown how to all that much.
