Mother’s Day is today in the U.S. Why did I get into a small disagreement with 2 of my friends because they claimed they are moms because they have dogs 🫠.

RIDICULOUS. those people should be ashamed of themselves. Ignorant.

I guess I don't care? Someone thinking of their pet as a "kid" doesn't diminish what I do as a mother or motherhood in general to me

I have a cousin and sister in law who are struggling to become parents so we tell them that it’s okay to be a dog parent for now. Like if in our group chat we wish each other happy Mother’s Day we make sure to wish them as we know of their struggle .

Someone who’s single and not trying, I say owner. I don’t consider them humans . This is a western mentality too.

When I had a dog people always said it counted 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t see the issue with it personally. To each their own
