This is a little unrelated to mom life, but does anyone feel mistreated and mad at the way their dentist is treating them?
I haven’t been to the dentist in awhile because I have bad tmj pain and jaw locking. While I’ve been seeing other doctors, I’ve started to get severe tooth pain, so just recently went to get it checked. They said I need a root canal, but to come back after a week after I take the antibiotics. So today I was supposed to get the root canal, but things didn’t go accordingly. I come in and get numbed up quickly, and then my dentist starts the procedure. I let her know that I may need a bite guard to keep my mouth open, because of the tmj pain and clicking. Not even 3 minutes in, she stops abruptly and says “no I can’t do this, your gums are angry and bleeding, you don’t brush your teeth daily.” And also she quit the root canal process right before starting, blaming it on my bad teeth and me not brushing enough. While she’ll letting me believe all this, she’s insisting she can’t work because of my tmj pain and locking jaw, which puts her in a risky place if my jaw does lock. Which I understand all this, but I don’t understand why she has so many other reasons why she can’t do the root canal. She was about to quit completely, when she told me “ your teeth are too bad. I’m just going to pull that tooth out. There is no saving it. You are not brushing.”
At that point I was like so which one is it?
Is it because of my tmj pain?
Is it because she just doesn’t want to save a tooth that could still be saved?
Or is it because she just wants to pull it out and be done with it?
I left still in a lot of pain and hurt with the way she was treating me. I have bleeding and decaying teeth because of my genetics and my mom had to have all her teeth removed by the age of 35. Not because I don’t brush, because I brush daily.
For whoever read, thank you for reading. Idk why I’m so disappointed in the healthcare and dental services lately.

Hi, I’d recommend getting a second opinion. After I was postpartum, I was told I needed a root canal, and it turned out I actually didn’t. It was really frustrating. Not sure if that will be your situation or not, but a second opinion never hurts.
