There are lots of places you can go for private scans and they're pretty affordable - £50-100 a time! So if you're really that anxious then you can go for some of those. We used Wondow to the Womb for some early and reassurance scans.

I’ve had private scans before because I had bleeding but I’m on a tight budget . I might just have to bite the bullet tho- thanks

I just had a baby in April but this popped up on my home page , I went for a private gender scan at 16 weeks which is half way between the two so it broke it up, i was super anxious for the scan as was too early to feel baby but it’s a lovely an different experience doing private scans, much more personal and light - less procedural and medical x

Private scan, or alternatively at your 16w appt the midwife may listen into baby's heartbeat, although whether they do it or not depends on your area

Congrats!! Yes i absolutely hated that period, you’re still in the what feels like the scariest phase & unless you have strong pregnancy symptoms (i didnt) you cant feel anything to reassure you. I think it’s such a long time to make mothers wait & private scans are expensive.
I also didnt get any more scans from the hospital after my 20 week one & i missed seeing the lil guy so much

Yes, I feel exactly the same! I'm having a private scan on Sunday as I'm nervous and don't want to wait until 20 weeks!
