Am I being naive?

I haven't done any official birthing classes ($300+ is just ridiculous) but I'm pretty proactive on YouTube and online article to the point I've started to be bored cuz I have so many "I already know that" moments.

As for anxiety and fear of being in labor idk why but im really not anxious, I kind have a chill, my body is designed to give birth attitude. I have music and pain management techniques memorized and Ive started a daily (more like every 3 days, lol, but im getting better) stretching/exercise routine.

But I honestly can't tell if im being naive or if I really am preparing enough. Any advice?

I don’t think you’re naive, I think you’re doing great in preparing the way you think it’s right for yourself. I think it’s also true that sometimes unexpected things happen no matter how much you prepare, so that would honestly be my main takeaway from everything I already went through. As long as you’re comfortable with the main gist of things and are aware that some things might not go as planned the day of and have an idea of how to process that, I think there’s no right or wrong way to prepare for the actual birth aspect of your pregnancy.

Those classes are a waste of money everything in them is free on YouTube best advice for birth is don't panic that's 1 2 and 3 plus stay hydrated and move as much as you can oh and lean into the pain don't tense up for it ive done it a lot of times its always scary but just stay calm calm results in the best outcome possible you got this 👌

If youre planning to breastfeed just do some research on that, you have to get that right early on for it to work well. Everything else you learn as you go 😊

To be cognizant of it while not in childbirth is completely different. Once the pain hits it can be entirely different, so just be aware of that. The youtube vids really are picturesque and soothing, not what i need up happening once those labor pains hit. Practice how to lean into the pain.

Its hard to say really you never know what will actually happen. Both me and a friend of mine learnt everything together and we both had the same mindset, both super confident feeling like yeah we are made to do this, and then another friend of mine (all of us at the same time) was dreading it and decided to go the route of prepare for the worst. Both my friends had great natural labours and I ended up going 50+ hours before an emergency section 🙈 i definitely still think knowing your stuff and feeling prepped and full of belief is the best way to manage but yeah at the end of the day things aren't always textbook 😅 good luck though! I wish you the best ❤️
