My 1 month old boy is super unsettled every night after his evening feed. It started during the night in the early weeks and we thought was “witching hour” and it has moved earlier to between 6-midnight.
Some nights it’s 2-3 hours of settling him but often more and it’s feed time again then.
Seems to be gas, have tried burping every way possible and he seems to hold on to his gas.
Used Infacol also with not much luck. He spits a bit but nothing crazy and just is uncomfortable it seems.
He’s also super hungry so in this cycle of feeding, burping and then trying to settle so he can sleep before his next feed. He also seems to be cluster feeding at night.
Am breastfeeding and bottle feeding expressed milk.
I am doing all the night shift as my partner gets up v early for work, so this is making the late evenings a super hard shift.
ANY advice on how to settle, little tricks or things we could try would be so much appreciated. Currently 1.30am and he hasn’t settled since 10pm. Have done top up feeds.

Following. Dealing with the same

Do you burp him mid feed? That can help. Also it could be that he wants more milk at night or that he’s cluster feeding so I would add 0.5-1oz for night feeds.
Also, white noise can help

My baby was like this, he would cry for hours on end, you could see he was in pain and uncomfortable, I did everything from burping, changing bottles, feeding little but more often, using infacol. Nothing really seemed to help, but once he turned 9 weeks old, he just seemed to get better and stopped all the crying, the doctors seemed to think that it was just his digestive system getting used to the milk.
Sorry, this isn't much help, but hang on in there. I know how hard it is, I also had a 3 year old to take care of it was honestly the most sleep deprived and toughest time of my life. Hopefully, it will get better for you soon. Try to burp mid feed and give plenty of tummy massages when he's not in pain. Do some leg exercises with him to try and get his to pass wind
