14M old walker will not wear socks or shoes

I've tried to get him in them but the socks he pulls of immediately and the shoes, I've never seen him cry so bad. Getting his feet measured was traumatising. Anyone else been in a similar position? I feel like it restricts where he can go because he loves to walk around but it's unsafe in certain places

How long have they been walking? It took about a month for my daughter to get comfortable. We put them on outside and then she realised what shoes meant and has been fine with them ever since x
