Dog with seperation anxiety

I want to go out more with my baby but my dog can't really be left home alone. I don't have any mum friends and ideally would like to bring him with me when I go out, but he can be quite wary of new people and barks at them. I want to do more groups and meet up with mum friends, but worry about how he will be if I bring him with from pram walks, and alternatively if I leave him at home he will just howl. It's holding me back from doing mum groups and getting out more. Any advice??

I'm in the same issue but not only does he have separation anxiety he's a bully type who doesn't trust while also trusting too much lol so pulls and barks at the same time

My dog is almost 9 years old and every since he was a puppy he never liked being left alone... After a couple years we learned that leaving him home with the TV on helps him. I also locked him in the kennel when leaving I think that confinement with the TV playing helped clear his anxiety of being home alone.

I also recommend the taking stage before you leave the house . You know how the watch you get your shoes on grab your purse and keys and the still follow you thinking they are going to?? Make sure you are speaking to them to tell them hey your going to stay here while I run to the store or pick the kids up (with my dog i throw in a treat and promise for something better if he's a good boy while im gone)

Also if you do want to take him on walks with your to mum groups (start with just him and stroller) I also recommend the leash/harness that wraps around your waist for when he gets excited and tugs.. I will also stop and wait when he does the tug thing. I know you want to get out and enjoy you and baby so don't worry too much just try the steps I told you(they won't work IMMEDIATELY but it will help)

If you’ve got pet insurance I’d highly recommend a consultation with Behavet, they’re incredible.
Alternatively check out Help my Dog. Both run by Tom Mitchell. He’s absolutely fantastic. He’s helped thousands of dogs and it’s all based around positive reinforcement and games ❤️
