Hey, has anyone else's baby been prescribed omeprazole? Can you tell me if I'm being dramatic?
So they initially prescribed my baby tablets that are "dissolvable" but they really don't disperse well and they're not scored to split tablet. Tablets are 10mg and the dose is 5mg
I complained to GP because how tf am I supposed to get accurate dose and they eventually agreed to prescribed it as liquid, but complained for ages because "it's £120 a bottle"
Am I being unreasonable to expect liquid to accurately dose my baby or are they right to be annoyed at me wanting liquid?

I did have that for my kid but I just did the best of what I could n left it at that.
Usually the dissolvable tablets medications tend to be really bitter when in contact with water from my experience.

You’re right at wanting a liquid but please look this medication up as it’s been linked to dementia. Xx

we were told to split the tablet in half and place half of the tablet inside a syringe and then suck up the water and shake it so that it mixes.
However we have stopped it after a month and I wish they would have told us that when we stop her reflux would be 10x worse for a few weeks until the body realises that she isn’t taking it anymore

I would also look into the cause of the issue instead of only treating the symptoms! CMPA is so often overlooked and just called ‘reflux’
