Pregnant Pcs
Omg, so this week I am 32 weeks. Monday marks 33. We just got word that we need to leave by July 1st and PCS across the way. Aka, either a 3-4 day drive or a 5ish hour flight. Please, are there any women who have flown this pregnant before. I already confirmed with OB that she recommends flying should hault at 37 weeks and most airlines won't do it anyway.
I am feeling so anxious, it is my first baby, and I really don't want to end up in a postion where my husband cannot attend the birth. Please, if anyone has done it how was the experience? I'm not high risk, I have had no complications.

Hi! Didn’t do a drive at 33 weeks but I did fly from Delaware to Arizona (5 hour flight; nonstop) for my baby shower (also my first baby) . I will say if possible try to get an aisle seat as close as possible to the bathroom. And I’d recommend trying to get that extra leg room, I was uncomfortable in the middle seat and no leg room . I hope this helps with your decision making !! ☺️
I was 35 weeks and pcsd from wa state to wa DC but I was flying to my hubby all throughout my pregnancy (he was in a different states for different types of trainings)
From my experience pay extra for the seat you want (window gave me more room and I could lay my head on the window) (seat was easy exit for nausea, I threw up a lot) red eyes were great.
Driving I could stop and take breaks whenever I wanted and saw friends along the way. I stopped and explored a couple places.
Having done both I tried to make the best of both….and be as prepared as possible. Be open minded and go with the flow and give yourself time and grace
I flew from Guam to LA, rode in a car from LA to Vegas, visited family and then did a road trip to Washington to drop off some stuff at my sponsor’s house before heading to Corvallis, OR to visit my parents. The night before I was supposed to get on a 7 hour road trip to report to Fairchild AFB, my water broke and I delivered in Corvallis. I was in hospital for 2 days before I delivered my oldest at 36.5 weeks. I say it is better to leave earlier rather than later. See if you can amend your orders to leave earlier to reduce stress. That way you can fly.
