My friend has a 4 year old son who was “borderline” if he needed one or not. My friend opted against it since it wasnt necessary. She regrets it because his head doesn’t fit in most helmets now due to its shape. He doesn’t have any delays or anything, but she wishes he could wear a hat or helmet.

My son had a helmet for a few months. You can see a very clear difference in before and after pictures, im very glad we said yes!

My daughter was also borderline not needed but would help so it was up to us. We decided to do it cause she was a bald baby. The ladies were absolutely wonderful, no guilt shaming and explained everything very well. Basically when you first come home with it you take it over every so often and look for red spots to see if needs adjusting. You go back if it does. Then you'll have follow up a points to do more adjusting as baby grows. You take it off for 1 hour every day to bath baby and clean the helmet. Baby gets used it very quickly and isn't bothered by it. Just know helmet will get stinky and keep baby cool as helmet makes baby sweat more. Helmet came in handy when baby was learning to sit and falling over. Never worried about bonking her head. But then when they bonk you with their head it's a lot less fun. Try to embrace the good and the bad. Stick to wearing per their recomondation so time frame doesn't get extended
