Desperately Seeking House Leads
I just want a safe, mold-free home for my kids without getting scammed. Is that too much to ask ?
I'm currently 10 weeks away from delivering my 4th baby and all we keep finding is either SCAMS or dirty/molded/bug filled homes. $1400-$1800 is realistically what we can afford while we prefer a 3 bedroom house an apartment, townhouse or duplex would do at this point. I've been looking from St.Pete over to Bradenton, down to Rotonda West and all the way to Punta Gorda.
We found a house we thought was it until we done a walk thru today with every AC unit having black mold and a wall bubbled and wavy. We were told by the landlord that AC units do that and to clean it with bleach when we move in but that we cant replace the units. Then that the clearly visible water damage wasnt water damage because she had the house looked at by insurance right after Hurricane IAN!!
Currently laying in bed crying while everybody else is asleep. If I move into a house tomorrow with mold I will be hospitalized before I have my daughter. Here recently every corner we turn has a road block 🚧 and I'm tired of it. Come August I'll have 3 under 3 and a 10 year old.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated!!

You probably just live in a very poor city. South or north Florida tends to be better because of tourism. West and east are kind of deserted, small, or run down old cities. Rare good ones.
There's several very nice homes for that budget in Ocala. I have one coming available, but unfortunately its $2k. I can't afford to lower it. But look near the world equestrian center, there's a neighborhood north of it that has plenty of homes available. Mostly 3/2s in that range.
Also... AC units dont do that 👀
