Anyone else finding the whole weaning process overwhelming? I haven’t got a clue where to even begin or how to do it? I’d like to do baby led weaning, but I just can’t figure out where to start. Has anyone got any advice, suggestions or tips? Thank you in advance x

I don't have advice, just solidarity that it is really overwhelming! I thought I was going to be so confident, that it would be baby led weaning all the way and that it would some how just be really easy and natural...
We've been going for 3 days and I'm totally winging it. The first thing he ate was some broccoli I did according to the 'how to wean your baby' book. Just boiled a few florets until very soft and mashed them well with some breast milk.
Second day I did some soft boiled butternut squash that I just mashed plain. He absolutely loved this but I'm fairly sure he had a tummy ache.
Today I made porridge using oat milk and put his little portion into the blender with a bit of cooled boiled water to thin it out and he enjoyed playing in it!
He's slept less well the last few days but I'll just keep going. Nobody knows your baby better than you do. It doesn't have to look perfect, I'm just going to keep looking at what I have in the fridge and letting him taste and try different smashed veggies🤷

*the tummy ache after the squash was not some kind of adverse reaction, just his first time ever digesting fiber

I started at 4 months as doctors advised for allergy introduction. It felt so overwhelming and confusing but I just followed a list of veg, offering a taste of 3 different veg first week - just spoonfuls. Next week introduce porridge or fruit. I introduced nut butter too this week. When trying new foods rub on their lip first and wait 5 mins. She loves greek yogurt and mushed fruit.

Sips of water are also important so they can digest well.
