Stay at home mom struggles

It's hard being a stay at home mom especially when you don't have a village. My husband is a truck driver and is gone throughout the week and we have 4 kids. After I cook and get the kids situated I look forward to my edibles..I eat half a edible. I'm also on sertraline for my anxiety. I was drinking excessively but I decided to stop drinking hard liquor a couple weeks ago. I got so fd up with my mother in law and sister in law I knew right then and there I had to stop. It's been a struggle because I relied on it. I drink wine now but not much of it because it doesn't really do anything for me. But I enjoy it because I don't over drink wine like I did with straight alcohol. But I feel like I am depending on my edibles too hard. I feel like I went from one unhealthy dependent to another and I don't like that for myself. I mainly I do it because when I don't I'm yelling at my kids all day long and that's exhausting and it's also stressful for them. Now they have a peaceful patient loving mom. I rather hurt myself then my kids. 😔 I am hoping this phase will pass because managing my kids without an edible seems damn near impossible at this point. I really enjoy teas especially chamomile tea. That's the next best thing that helps relax my nerves also magnesium spray with a lite candle. But that combination puts me to sleep and I can't go to sleep until all my kids are sleep 😞. I am having a hard time finding a balance. My kids are 1,6,8,9. I don't take time for myself as much as I should and that might be what's hurting me

Hey Mama, sending love and peace your way with a virtual . I know it can be hard, but keep your head up and know God loves and sees you.

Sounds like a rough situation, hope everything goes well. If you're worried about the edibles being a crutch it might be good to gradually taper off them so as not to shock your system. It's going to get better!
Chamomile tea (with some honey especially) is a great way to relax for me too.

Another suggestion for relaxation is hard exercise + cold shower - that worked for me.
