My son is currently on aptamil pepti however does not like the taste of it so is refusing his bottles & hardly drinks so the doctor has now prescribed us nutramigen instead but I’ve heard this tastes even worse so don’t think I’m going to have much luck? Has anyone else’s little one been on both and which did they prefer / drink more on?

My children haven’t ever had both but my daughter was started on sma althera wouldn’t drink doctor gave us Aptamil pepti and she took it no bother. My son has been prescribed nutramigen and he took it straight away. I will say nutramigen smells a lot worse than the pepti so I can imagine it tastes worse. Also in England we were told a straight swap but in Northern Ireland we were told to mix it with regular formula until baby tolerates then obviously remove regular formula. Don’t know if it was a change in guidance but there is 3 years between my eldest daughter and my son.

We’re on aptamil pepti but we add a few drops of vanilla extract/essence to help with the taste and it’s helped.
