Hey mamas, I was wondering when is a good time to move out my toddler to his toddler bed, he currently sleeps in a playpen with a mattress in it, but he like to take it out and mess with it. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My daughter has been in her toddler bed since February of this year she kept getting her leg stuck in the bars but just make sure the room is baby and toddler proofed before you do it

I’ve heard that it’s best to keep them in a crib or crib-like situation until they’re closer to 3. My son is still in the crib and he hasn’t tried to climb out at all yet. Still does one nap a day and sleeps 11-12 hours at night

My son was just over a year old when we switched to a toddler bed. He would scream at the top of his lungs until we got him out. We toddler proofed his room and swapped his bedroom door for a baby gate and our mornings have been more peaceful since.

I think its more personal preference too... i live in an apartment and her crib is in the living room behind the couch so switching to a toddler bed isn't ideal for us.. when her brother is born and ready to move from his bedside bassinet to a crib and if we aren't in a house by then, I plan to move her to a mattress in a play pen so he can have the crib
