Teeth extraction not sedated only numbing

My 28 month old is needing to have her 4 front teeth removed due to decay from breastfeeding overnight. Dentist wants to extract all 4 front teeth without sedating her. She will be awake for it all, they’ll only numb the area. He specifically said it’ll only take 10 seconds to remove all 4 teeth. I’m worried she will be traumatized or feel any pain.

I’m scared, I have a heavy heart. I feel entirely responsible because I was the one breastfeeding her.

Has anyone else had their child’s teeth extracted without sedation?

Thanks for any input

The same thing happened to my 27 month old but he was sedated. He got fillings, silver crowns and three teeth pulled.

I would think my son would have been traumatized too, because even if they numb the areas where she won’t feel pain during the procedure, she’ll feel the pressure and it’s a scary scenario in general and maybe see blood, etc.
I must say though, when they were taking my son back to surgery, he was screaming and scared. But they gave him a medication right before that which calms people but also helps him to forget that. It’s called versed. He was totally himself the day after surgery.
Please get a second opinion or tell them you want anesthesia if that’s what you’re feeling. I hope this helps! And please don’t be hard on yourself for the overnight breastfeeding. We’re still good mommas 💜
