so back in 2024 my husbands motorcycle was stolen, we had struggled for a year with only one vehicle until we finally managed to get a car for him. all was fine, all was well. then surprisingly his motorcycle was found around memorial day this year, the guy had fake plates on the bike and had been hot wiring it every time he went to ride it. the cops call my husband while he’s at work saying they found it and that they can “keep it in a safe place” for him until he can come to pick it up after work, fantastic!! they got it towed. the towing company is trying to charge us hundreds, almost to a thousand dollars to get the bike out. even though it was stolen. we have to pay to get his stolen bike back. what the fuck. obviously we can’t afford that cause??? anyways the towing company tries to get it filed as abandoned through the dmv (even though it’s filed as stolen) and are trying to get my husbands drivers license frozen and charged a fine for an abandoned vehicle. and then here’s the cherry on top. we received a letter in the mail. the courts decided to dismiss all charges against the guy who stole the motorcycle. he’s free. with no consequences for his actions, while we are being punished for having a vehicle stolen from us. what a corrupted system we live in👍
