I am 25 weeks and been experiencing really uncomfortable stomach tightness, which is across the stomach and it goes really hard. I’ve had this a few weeks now mainly in the afternoon after eating and really uncomfortable when walking, sometimes to the point where I can’t take a deep breath and feels sore to cough or sneeze.
I have a very physical job working in a nursery, midwife says it’s braxton hicks but it lasts a long time. Anything which can help relieve this or avoid it happening? Thank you!

Apparently hydration plays a big factor too in getting Braxton hicks and not much apart from lying down but you have a physical job so I doubt it’s something you can do, maybe sit down when it happens? Do you not get a risk assessment at your work place?
Also if it does get really uncomfortable and sore I would call triage because that’s the one thing they’ve told me. You can have a lot of Braxton Hicks a day as long as they’re not painful to the point where you have to breathe through them or if they’re regular and if there’s bleeding. So in case you could always call triage.

Hi there! I am exactly in the same situation as you, 25 weeks, working in a nursery so lots of physical work and long hours! I started having these feelings few days ago, and yeah, I’ve been told the same, nothing to worry about! Our body is constantly working and adjusting 🤗
