Formula Feeds

Those whose babies have already turned one, have you stopped formula altogether or continuing for a bit?

My baby turned one at the beginning of the month, but she is showing no signs of wanting to give up her milk. She will cry all day until she gets it, so cutting out the midday bottle isn't great.

She has a bottle in the morning after breakfast, then she wants another after lunch and then has a bedtime bottle.

I still have a tub of formula to use up, so not looking to stop just yet, and I don't mind continuing onto stage 3 if need be. But just wondering if others are continuing and how did you cut down the feeds?

Thanks mumma's!

I just stopped. We were down to a morning feed and before bed feed, he wasn’t finishing them, then I ran out of formula and swapped the 2 feeds to cows milk. He didn’t drink much of it but kept trying over the space of a 10 days and stopped offering it a few days ago as was just a waste. he doesn’t miss it.
He has snacks in the day where the milk used to be. He’s 1 in 2 days.

Why would you move to stage 3 rather than cows milk out of interest?

We had our last prescription filled of allergen formula so just gonna finish the tubs we have and then that’ll be it. My daughter has 3 bottles a day before her sleeps. I know she doesn’t need it, she’s a very healthy sized girl haha, but just likes the comfort and I’m not necessarily in a rush. We’ve introduced oat milk which she doesn’t mind but isn’t as keen as her formula. I don’t think it’ll be the end of the world for us though when we’re done x

I've swapped to cows milk in a straw cup for the first bottle so he gets used to it whilst we use up the last of the formula. When that's gone, we'll swap the other two bottles to cows milk, and drop them as he wants too. He's only 4th percentile so I worry about dropping the number of bottles, even though he eats really well.

We are still doing our morning and evening one but will drop the evening one soon as that’s the one she’s leaving and can fall asleep okay without it 😊

She’s stopped having her morning bottle. But still has an afternoon, before bed and middle of the night bottle. I’m planning to swap the afternoon bottle to a straw with a cup and planning to wean off middle of the night bottle. I’ve decided to keep using formula though and not switch to cow’s milk.

Car seat help!! 🙏🙏

(Please ignore the messy car)
We had this car seat fitted yesterday by Halfords but the seat belt is in the way of putting my baby in. The guy who fitted it said it has to be like this so it’s diagonal in the back but I can’t put my baby in from the outside I have to go inside the car and buckle her in.
There must be another way 😩 or some trick to fix the seat belt down easily, put baby in, then put it back out? I need to sort this out asap because she already hates the car seat and she’s especially annoyed at it after daycare so I can’t make it worse 🥲

Ease my mind please 🥺😭

I'm lactose intolerant, it's gotten more mild as an adult (next day I live on the toilet with a belly ache, it's not an allergy but an intolerance so can be quite painful and was horrible as a child)

My sweet girl is 2 weeks and 6 days old, I was changing her nappy and found a small amount of coffee ground blood. Straight away it reminded me of the struggles my mum had with me and how she was so scared of the blood in the nappy she took me to A&E.

I've called our doctor and booked an appointment but I'm just having a horrible day mentally with it. I hope she doesn't have it as it's not nice to live with and it causes so much discomfort especially her being so small 🥺

She spits up a lot, she can poo 4-5 times an hour, she gets visibility uncomfortable when she's gassy and once she's relieved, she's so much more happy.

Has anyone else got a baby with cmpa? Any advice as I'm almost certain this is what it is, I just need my doctor to confirm 🥺

Breastfeeding

Just wondering how often everyone is breastfeeding? My 8 day old is on the boob all the time and several people have suggested a dummy. I’m not anti getting him one but not sure if I’m just giving in too soon and it’s normal for him to be feeding often at this stage. He’s definitely not only eating once every 3 hours!

Having to take baby everywhere

Do people take their babies with them to hairdressing appointments ? I’m desperate to get my hair done but my 4.5 month old is literally glued to me 🤣 she feeds every 2 hours so I can’t really leave her with any yet !

How long do your little ones sleep at night in one stretch?💤

Just wondering how long everyones babies are sleeping in one stretch. My baby will last about 5hrs before needing first feed then sleep for 8-10hrs before waking up. It used to be around 6hrs that he'd sleep the second time but recently has gotten much longer.
