My son outgrew his crib, we made a play pen area with a bed on the floor for him. He’s learned to jump playpen. I lay with him every night until he fall asleep. Some nights he’s down in 20 mins and other times I’m fighting with him for HOURS to just lay down and be still.
How are we getting our little ones to sleep and how to stay get them to stay in bed? I’m exhausted 😩

We tried to get him to have the same bedtime routine every night. I find that if you do same thing, in the same order, on repeat, they start to learn and know what to expect.
What I do with my son is:
- change into pj’s
-give him a bottle of milk (warmed)
-while he has his milk, I let him watch 10-15 min max of “bedtime stories for toddlers” ( lights are off, making a bedtime atmosphere to wine down)
-after he finishes his milk, we brush teeth
-go to the room where white noise is on and everything is ready for him just to go to sleep
My son loves his “teddy” so he hugs his teddy, I kiss him goodnight and I leave. He also has a small bottle of water if he needs it overnight.
I tried to not have any sort of distractions in his room. Even if he gets out of bed, there is nothing for him to do other than lay down.
I find that if i get him into that sleeping mood/ atmosphere before I actually take him in his room, it helps to calm him down and understand its time for bed 🤗🤍
