My sons fell over and bit his tongue this morning but took a chunk out 😭

Yes it’ll heal. It might just be sore for a few days while it heals. Soft easy foods!
The tongue does heal very well but I would actually call 111 for an emergency dentist appointment to get it checked to be on the safe side
The tongue heals pretty quickly but it’s absolutely something I would get checked out by medical professionals!
My top teeth went clean through my bottom lip when I was 6 and I needed 12 stitches.
My nephew did the same thing when he was toddler he was playing on my sisters recliner chair didn't listen when told to get down and was taken off he went back on it and jumped and lost his balance and bit his bottom lip teeth went through it my sister took him hospital they glued it back no stitches I would take him to the hospital so that can be stitched as its the tongue and ot looks deep.
They may prescribe antibiotics to prevent infections and painkillers for pain.
That looks like a deep laceration, it could need stitches. When My Daughter was 4 years old, she got knocked over at the park & she bit her tongue so hard.
She ended up needing stitches. I would suggest going to the ER/ urgent care clinic. I hope your kiddo feels better soon 🩷
