Weird, or not?

Our LO is 17 months. Typically, after dinner I take her up to the bathroom for a bath, and dad does dishes. The other day I offered to swap, assuming he would enjoy bath time. He told me he doesn’t want to give her baths because it’s “weird” for him to be giving her a bath because she’s a girl. I could understand if she were old enough to be bathing herself, but she’s not even 2. I find it really odd that he thinks that it’s “weird” to give his child a bath. Is this a red flag? Should I be concerned?

Does he change nappies?

Does you LO fuss alot in the bath or about bathtime? If so could just be him avoiding dealing with the fuss.

My other half baths both our girls and our oldest is 4. I don't think he has ever said he wouldn't do it. He has the mindset that if I wasn't about he would have to do it so easier just to get stuck in and know the routines, rather than being a headless chicken if suddenly needing to do it.

Sounds like he doesn’t want to do it because he doesn’t feel like it lol. It’s not a man if it doesn’t come with 1 million excuses 😭😂

My husband is exactly this way! He was harmed when he was young 💔 alot of guys feel this way, my own dad was this way & amazing man to this day. Generationally, 20 years ago women did all of these things so there is going to be a learning curve of men normalizing it. All of this is weird to them. He feels weird changing his nephews diapers when we babysat, I'd change them. He was raised you can't look at a woman without her consent or permission & that makes it hard for my husband. At age 3 I started to give our oldest a bath or shower or shower with me because it made my husband uncomfortable bc he once gave her a UTI making her clean herself down there in the tub 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄 MEN. & I remember my dad. My dad to this day won't bathe my kids over the age of speaking, 12mo-15mo. It's too awkward or weird for him he thinks that's a woman's job! & I love my dad to no end. The most amazing man I know ❤️

How are we taking showers?

When he was little, I used to just put the bouncer in the bathroom and I would shower while I was watching him. That’s something I’m not able to do anymore because he became to mobile for the bouncer and also for his swing so I had to get rid of them he tries to escape them by crawling, or he simply starts yelling cs he doesn’t like them. How are we taking showers then?
the other day I put him in his highchair with a couple of toys, but he got bored of it really quickly and I ended up taking a three minute shower. I was also thinking I could put him on his crib with a couple of toys since I can just bring the monitor in the shower with me. I’m just not sure if he’ll like that. Has anybody tried this? Any other ideas?

Epidurals

Hello - expecting FTM, I’d really like to hear people’s opinions on epidurals who have had one previously please and their experiences (good or not so good) - no horror stories though please 🥲 I have done a LOT of research myself but would really like to get some first hand experiences, I’m aware of the risks & it’s not for everyone but I’d love to hear if people enjoyed having one and if not, why not 😊 thank you!!!

Recovery

When I found out I was pregnant I quit all drugs and alcohol smoking everything but now it’s like all I want to do but I know I can’t because the baby’s more important. I’ve only just turned 20 and I’m 26 weeks pregnant.

Hallucinating or no?

Ok so it's 10pm at night. 2 people in bed, blue and white. White is usually asleep by 9:30 but goes to take a shower at 10.

Blue, who is and was awake hears moaning (and heavy breathing) and jokes that they could have helped (white get off). The text chain in the comments follows.

Blue then says they must be hallucinating and to ignore them. White doesn't respond.

Bkue apologises imfor causing a problem, the next morning. White says "it's ok".

Do we think Blue was hallucinating? Or was White lying?

Please, please, please help.

9 days pp and exclusively breastfeeding help 🥲

I am a ftm exclusively breastfeeding my 9 day old baby. I've been having a couple struggles/'problems'. To keep this post somewhat short I'll make bullet points. I'm just looking for any advice or similar situations and what you did?
● when trying to latch him he waves about and shoves his hands in his face and mouth stopping me from getting anywhere near his mouth and then gets frustrated he's not got a boob in his mouth (goes on for 5 to 10 mins sometimes and he gets really frustrated, and between juggling him and my boob I can't hold his hands out the way)
● the first 5 days of latching were amazing and had no problems but now he will fuss and struggle to latch and when he finally does he either falls asleep super quick (we tickle him, cold wet wipe and strip him down and he still just falls asleep), he does dream feed but these are usually super short and I feel like its not enough for him or he pops off within the first minute or two and cries because he's not got the boob in his mouth and then struggles to get latched, then pops off again when he does manage. It's a vicious cycle.
● doesn't wake up for feeds day and night time. I'm having to wake him up if he's asleep. Gives hunger cues when he's awake.
● over the last few days he will only take 1 boob for 10 mins, sometimes this satisfies him till 3 hours later (which is when I wake and feed him if he's asleep, if hes awake he'll start showing hes hungry by then) but then sometimes he's hungry again very soon after. I just worry he's not getting enough or that i can't figure out when it's comfort or milk he wants.
I feel clueless and getting really emotional over this whole situation because I know we're both trying so hard I can see that he is I just can't get it figured out. I know this is all probably very trivial but it's really getting to me 🙃
