Am I being too adventurous?

Hi all, my husband and I plan on taking our baby to America in September, he will be 19 months by this time. We plan on going for 3 weeks and traveling around California and to Las Vegas so we will be traveling throughout different hotels and have a hire car the whole trip. We live in the UK so would involve a long haul flight. We have only ever travelled a distance of 3 hours on the plane before. Can anyone give any reassurance that it will be fine or if it’s a bad idea?🙄 I’m worried we will be away for too long and I’m worried about the flight length, however, we would be traveling in business class so may be abit better with baby etc?? All opinions will be appreciated!

I haven’t done this but how is toddlers sleeping? Do they sleep good when you travel or drive or easily take naps. That’s the only thing I would “worry” about. If they suck at sleeping then a long hall flight might be a struggle. If they are pretty good then I wouldn’t worry.

Sounds like an amazing adventure to me! Just enough structure with a 19 month old but still with flexibility on where and when they’ll nap usually, I’d love to do it haha there’s should be some learning and tough points but we have them at home anyway right 🥲

We did 12 hour flight with our 3 year old and 22 month old. It was overnight and they slept 90% of it. We also hired a car and travelled around Mauritius. It’s so
Doable ☺️☺️
