I took my firstborn to an ENT to get a lip tie clipped and was told that we’re all born with a frenulum (the piece of flesh connecting the lip to the gums), however it’s classified as a lip tie if it affects the intake of milk. My son nursed WAY better once it was clipped so it was a true lip tie, but he said some babies have lip ties and end up bottle feeding so they grow up without it really being an issue.
