Thoughts on Central Tacoma?

My husband and I are looking into moving into a house located close to caliber collision and People’s Pilates in Central Tacoma. We aren’t really sure about the neighborhood and wanted to see if anyone has opinions on if it’s family friendly or safe?

Just moved here from Texas. My Washingtonian husband calls Tacoma tacompton lol. I would check out point Ruston which is part of Tacoma or check out Steilacoom or university place
