There's a small park outside our neighborhood backyards(not private, but unless you live in one of the houses theres no need to drive around it)
So of course the neighborhood kids(a few of which go to my kids school, ages 4-8) congregate there to play, especially now during the summer break.
I always give enough snacks for everyone(if my kids ask for snacks)
And sometimes I'll have a treat, like today I found a big box of popsicles on sale so they all(7 kids) got one.
The other moms do the same, it seems to be an unspoken rule.
Was wondering if it was universal?

Yes my heart couldn’t see a kid without
Unless it’s like really sugary or something I’ll get them to ask their mums or nuts we just don’t risk nuts , some can be more strict on what’s given.

If we're going to see a friend and I know their allergens and parents snack preferences then yeah I'll usually bring double of whatever snack we're bringing cos it's nice to share and my daughter loves offering the snacks! I wouldn't unless I was 100% sure I wasn't going to cause an allergic reaction or upset a parent.
This situation sounds like something that's grown organically and sounds lovely! Real neighborhood vibes which is quite rare nowadays I think 🥲

Oh yes I love feeding children haha out anyone, really 😊

I always ask parents first but yes ☺️

If I have em on me, but I always ask the parents if their child is allowed to have it or if they want it for their kid, I don’t try directly handing it out to their children

I only will if parents have said its ok, both my kids have allergies and i would be fuming if a parent gave my kids something they’re allergic to so would never risk doing that to another child

If i see a kid regularly coming by then im asking the parent if they have allergies or food restrictions and after that ill make sure i keeo safe treats for them when theyre over.
My daughter is 3 and has a friend whose family only allow natural sugars from things like fruit or smoothies made with fresh everything so when they're around...i only offer fruit to both my kid and theirs. Then another one who cant have things like gummies bears or chips unless the chips are made at home. Another friend who can only really have Popsicles but have to have no more than x amt of sugar. So I regularly make Popsicles from scratch and this way if 2 of them are over then they can still all have Popsicles.
But i dont give snacks to kids who I dont know. Id need to speak with the parents to make sure they're not allergic to anything.

When we meet friends for playdates I usually take double snacks with me.
Would always ask parents before giving anything just in case.

Yes if the parents agree with I definitely do
