So I’m on my second Pregnancy my first pregnancy was horrific. I was a size 2 uk before I even got pregnant then after I got pregnant I got HG all the way untill I had given birth. I lost so much weight they didn’t sell my size clothing in the uk. I was constantly hospitalised and doctors wasn’t taking me seriously due to my age and previous ED record.
This time I’m luck enough to be able to afford private heath care , I saw a specialist who instantly diagnosed me with HG and got me on Zofran to help me.
Heres where the pharmacist comes in
I walk into the pharmacy and ask for my prescription he looks at the paper looks and me and does a few double takes - then he proceeds to ask me into the consulting room , I go because at this point I’m just confused.
I’m sat in there for about 10 minutes before he comes back in and very condescendingly says if I can manage without them then I should as they are known to cause birth defects in babies if taken under a certain amount of weeks ext. when I tried to tell him I had HG he had no idea what it was.
I suggest he look it up before recommending over what my doctor clearly had and he then said “ I suggest you but your babies health first “ !!! Like what the fuck !!!!!
I was fuming but idk why I just laughed at him and walked out , I went elsewhere for my prescription

I would have absolutely lost my shit at him, what a knob 😠 so sorry you had to experience that! I’d definitely report him and/or make a formal complaint

So so so frustrating how many health professionals don't know about HG or take it seriously, I experienced something similar. Hope you get through the rest of your pregnancy okay and the tablets are helping 🙏🏻

Report him, this is not ok. I had the same happen with different meds and the midwife was so shocked!!
