Am I rude for not wanting to throw a baby shower or gender reveal because both pregnancy’s before we have gotten multiple diapers and nothing else we asked for or really needed( we have 9 boxes that never got used and forgot about for 6-4 years ago) I spend so much on the baby showers to make sure mine and my SO family feels our appreciation only to have majority people bring diapers ONLY and don’t get me wrong it’s nice but not when every single person brings a box of diapers that last 2-3 months.
I know how rude it sounds but we have bought all our clothes, bottles, strollers, play mats etc for the first two because nobody did . And at what point is it like rude on them for doing the same thing while we watch them buy others the things they NEED/ASKED FOR

I completely hear your side which I agree with you I also see where others may come from so maybe if you do a baby shower with no gifts and they are supposed to only purchase gifts on a registry that you make that way they have to go through a checklist and can't get duplicates and if you really want I mean you can say if you didn't get anything on the registry you can't go to the baby shower so in other words you can make it to where you set up the registry you let everybody know this is the registry and you have until this day on this day you send out invitations to the baby shower and you go based on the people who are on the registry list that purchased and those people get the invitations 😅🤷

That’s completely valid to not have a baby shower if you don’t want to. I’d set up a registry and if they want to get a gift then they can get something off the registry that you guys actually need/want
