Hey girls, I really need some advice🩷
My baby has been really gassy since she was 3 weeks old. The health visitors and midwives keep telling me it’s normal, but I’m starting to wonder because she gets really upset with it and now it’s disturbing her sleep. She wakes up loads during the night, constantly wriggling and straining, trying to poo.
I changed her formula on 1st July, but if anything she seems more constipated now, so I’m not sure whether I should change it again or give it more time. We use MAM bottles with Lansinoh teats, but I’m thinking about switching to Philips Avent anti-colic bottles with the AirFree vent to see if that helps.
I’ve also been using gripe water, which sometimes helps bring up wind, but she’s still really struggling.
Has anyone else been through this? What helped your baby? I’d really appreciate any advice because it’s horrible seeing her so uncomfortable. 💕

My little boy is now 4 months old and still struggles with wind maybe 2/3 days of the week. He’s breastfed so slightly different, but the thing that has seemed to help the most is a mix of infacol and really on the ball with burping multiple times during a feed, even at night when he’s still half asleep after feeding. We also do some stretches with his legs as he has a lot of tension that stops him from relaxing, and plenty of tummy time to stimulate his gut to move!
Lots of it is trial and error for your baby but the HV is right, it really is normal. Some babies just take longer to learn how to use the right muscles than others, while also relaxing enough to pass wind!

My baby had tummy problems when he was first born. I made sure to burp him twice after he ate, do gas exercises before I changed his diaper, and gave him gas drops (mylicon) before he ate. Then lots of tummy time and moving around with him. I use Dr Browns anti-colic bottles too. That worked for us :)

My baby and I survive off Mylicon and camilia tummy !! She looks just like her daddy and we joke that the only thing she got from me was my gut 😅 she is the gassiest baby I’ve ever met. When we feed we do at least three burps in between her bottle. So feed an ounce, burp, feed an ounce, burp etc. Then we do some bicycle kicks to move some of that gas around. Then she gets her mylicon or camilia drops and passes out :) she’s such a good baby, she loves her mylicon the most, sometimes if she’s not super fussy she’ll stay up and look at us in the swing until we give her some! It smells like liquid tums
