So I'm watching a video about Jenny Mollen and women like her make me embarrassed to be called a boy mom. Why is it that most of the time you hear that term the women seem to have some type of emotionally incestuous relationship with their sons. It's creepy and now I get worried that people will think all of us are that way. It's bad enough that if you are a single mom it can be EXTREMELY hard to date but to be a boy mom on top of that when there are so many women in the world comparing raising boys to a toxic relationship makes things worse.

Apparently this is more common than I initially imagined. The most extreme cases, they are labeled as enmeshment or emotional incest. Usually the start of it is when a mom is emotionally lonely in her own life. She looks for her son to be her surrogate partner. A child is never suppose to be responsible for adult emotions. Everything is opposite in this type of family dynamic. The child grows up with a lot of anxiety around keeping his mother happy. Even when he marries or find a partner. The son’s partner will often feels like a third wheel in this incestuous relationship because the primary relationship is between the mother and son.
Genesis 2:24 from the bible even warns us about this type of family dynamic. This is from a two thousand years old text! Yet people still ignore the words of the wise and stay in toxic relationships!

There are so many generalizations that can apply to all of us. Those that choose to judge will judge. 🤷🏻♀️ Not much we can do to stop it. I believe that it is so statistically insignificant, but of course media will make it seem like a great percentage of the public is like this. I try to avoid social media so that I am not even aware of what people might be judging me about this week. 😂
