I’m heading back to my hometown this week, and I’m feeling conflicted. My current partner and I have basically been roommates for the last few months. Our relationship has been toxic for years, and at this point, almost every interaction is negative. He doesn’t seem willing to let the relationship go, even though it’s clear we’re not in a healthy place.
Now that I’m going back home, several exes have reached out wanting to see me. Part of me misses feeling wanted and appreciated, but another part of me wonders if I’d just be looking for a distraction instead of making the best decision for myself.
Would you meet up with an ex in this situation, or would you wait until your current relationship is officially over? I’m genuinely looking for honest opinions, not judgment.

Not an ex, there's a reason it ended and distance and time makes us more suseptible to putting on the rose colored glasses when it comes to past relationships. Also it never feels good to cheat even when its on a toxic partner, there will be guilt that might make it even harder to end the relationship. Try to end it asap and spend and least few months single so that you can recenter yourself and then get out and see whats new.
