Missed period but negative pregnancy test

Has anyone experienced a missed period hit negative pregnancy test ? It’s not that it’s too early as going of last period I would potentially be 7 weeks. Last couple periods have been varied, not sure on what I’d do if I was as now not a good time/money/space etc. any advice ??
