Potty training
I’m feeling like I’m a failure because my 3 year old still isn’t potty trained. I’ve tried it a few times now and he knows what to do and the concept of it but just won’t do it. Is anyone in the same boat? Advice or tips would be helpful. Thanks so much.

There is a book. The three day potty training and also the oh crap! Potty training book. What has helped me is to take a weekend of no pants, no underwear and be with them 24/7. After those days, don’t go back to diapers. Just let the accident happen and when they do, just say ups! We do poopoo and pee in the toilet. Take them there and show where it should be done.
It’s ok to have accidents. Sometimes it takes a while, depends on the kid, but they will get it eventually. My second got trained faster but had more hilarious accidents, like peeing on us while we were sleeping just because. Our oldest was more ashamed of accidents, which broke my heart, he would tell me “ I can’t do this”, I would tell him, “of course you can baby, you can do anything” . He was 3 years and 3 months when I trained him. The youngest was 2 years and a couple months.
Mine was struggling, but at about 3.5 started to get it more. I had him pick out some undies from Walmart, and then got small candy to use as bribes/to keep him on the potty for more than 15 seconds lol. Started with m&ms, and now we’re doing the small individually wrapped Reese’s cups and whatever other candy I can find he’ll eat that’s small. I’m in AZ, so I do the individually wrapped ones so they don’t melt together in my cupboard 😩
Honestly, it’s a lot of “time to go potty” “hey let’s go potty and THEN we can do fun thing”
Girl do not feel bad! My pediatrician told me they start when they are ready not us lol
We are in day 15 of potty training. I just put underwears and talk to him about keeping it dry and listening to his body. If I need to use the bathroom, I tell him my body is telling me to pee lol. So he been doing the same. If he get 20 stickers he will get a toy he wants from our toy closet. I keep new toys around as a reward. Good luck!
Yes! Mine just turned 3.5 and it’s like a light switched on and now she does it all by herself. I didn’t even prompt her to poo You n the potty either she just went in the bathroom one day and yelled for me to come look and bam we haven’t pooped on our pants again
