Combi feeding

So I'm breastfeeding my newborn but I'm also topping up with formula feeds throughout the day. My baby seems to get her feeds from the breast but then only 30min later wants another feed. Is there not enough milk? Wondering why the cluster feeding? She seems more satisfied after a formula feed. Any advice?

Going through the same thing! He seems to prefer formula and prefer the bottle. 😢

Cluster feeding is so normal in the newborn stage. Shes upping your supply to get what she needs. Their stomachs are sooo tiny and breastmilk is easier to digest than formula. I found local breastfeeding groups so helpful in the early days

I'm going through the same thing.... I'm pumping once/twice a day to up my supply but one boob doesn't seem to be cooperating. Barely anything is coming out so I'm having to top up with formula

Topping up with formula can unfortunately harm your supply. As long as you latch baby as and when they’re wanting it, your supply should match their needs. If you’re uk based there should be a breastfeeding support group local to you, I’d highly recommend going.

If you’re really worried that your baby isn’t getting enough (if they’re loosing weight) and formula gives you peace of mind just make sure you’re pumping at the same time as the formula feeds and it will help keep your milk coming xx

Colostrum

Are people collecting colostrum even if they intend to breastfeed?

I know it doesn’t always work out as planned, but my plan would be to pump if for whatever reason I can’t breastfeed straight away, unsure whether to bother harvesting

Nappies

This is my opinion on nappies that I thought may be good to do for expecting Mums (uk version)

Mamia (Aldi) awesome cheap and rlly good
Pampers good have no complaints only purchase these if we’ve ran out of them when out and about just on expensive side
I’ve forgot make of the Lidl ones but the ones that begin with L I’ve honestly never ever had a good experience with these my baby’s nappy leaks every night when wearing them

Breast pads

I’m EBF and going through disposable breast pads like there’s no tomorrow. The reusable ones just leak right through as they’re fabric. I’m 5 weeks PP. how long until I can just wear my nursing bras without a pad as they get all bunched up each time I go to feed and I just want to stop having to buy so many!

Latching advice?

Hello Mamas! Baby girl #2 has made her arrival yesterday! She is healthy but sadly takes after her big sister when it comes to breast feeding!💔 I am going to continue to try as long as possible but subbing with formula & will be pumping what I can in hopes we’ll get just breast milk at least from pumping (and won’t need formula🤞🏻). What best worked for you when latching/getting babies interested & what best helped my strictly pumping moms milk supply?🥲🤞🏻

Baby hates the car seat

My 11 week old hates the car seat. She’ll cry if she’s put in it for the whole journey. She’ll spit the dummy out too. Even if she’s asleep when I transfer her, she’ll wake up and cry.

She needs a good few minutes when I take her out to calm down and stop crying.

Any tips, products, anything at all I can do to help? I’ve had to pull over a few times to calm her down as it was hard to drive with her screaming.

Is it normal ?

Hi everyone, my baby is 11 weeks 5 days old. Today he slept from 14:00 pm until 17:00 pm. He woke up because he was hungry and drank a full 10 oz (about 300 ml) bottle. Is this normal? Has anyone else's baby done this?
