We are having a son and my husband wants to give the baby his name and have him be a junior. I don’t want that. I want them to have different middle names, and give the baby my father’s middle name. He originally agreed to that, and then changed his mind once he realized that wouldn’t make our son a true jr. Now he is insisting the child take his name. He really wants this. I’m sad that I don’t have a say in this. Am I out of line?
He did tell me I could name every kid after this whatever I want. I suppose it’s a compromise but I don’t even want full say. I want us to pick the names together.

Why do you think you don’t have a say?
His name can be the child’s middle name. Since naming your child is a big deal for the both of you, both should be happy with it.
Also he’s already changed his mind here, I wouldn’t trust that he won’t do it again.

ur son would still be a jr if he has ur husbands first name and a different middle name and ur husband already agreed to this so why is he now changing his mind? possible for u child to have 2 middle names if u can’t decide?
