Is it just me or did you get lots of people, friends and family, telling you they will help you out with the baby whilst you were pregnant, but now baby is here nobody is offering to help?

During pregnancy I’ve had 0 help or support (apart from my partner). All friends and family got distant with me & haven’t been interested the whole time. No one has asked me how I am, or how I’m feeling, or how baby is. I’ve recently been diagnosed with prenatal depression and everyone just thinks I’m fine. So honestly I know that once baby is here, I’ll still have 0 help or support. Villages are over rated. Do you have a good partner to help you? Xxx
Oh I’m sorry that’s happened to you. Yes my partner is great but he works all week. Being left at home alone with the baby all day is getting a lot!

Sorry you have to go through this but it is true and sad to experience

As I have two now, I realised a lot & truly. No-one really help you. Like above said, is over rated with the support and what not. Just shows people true colours after awhile. If they were there for you before baby, they would have been there through it all and mean it. xo

I find some people help in their own imagination. As they actually think they are your village. Its very annoying

So true that is why I have decided to be one & done. Parenting without a village ain’t for the weak & I am barely managing parenting without any help with one kid so I can’t add another cuz I can’t imagine how
Much harder it will be. Kudddos to those who have a village or don’t mind not having a village bt it’s dissapointing to see how many jus don’t offer to help. They only want to come around to see what the kid looks like or what u look so they can go talk shit bt how ur managing motherhood bt no one genuinely wants to help or offers help. So sad 😭 I love my son bt hate motherhood so much

I find that if you’re not getting the help you need, you need to ask people and ask them to do specific things

Yeah, I don’t blame people though, sometimes people have all the right intentions but then when it comes to life, and their own responsibilities like work, it just doesn’t play out like either of you thought in that happy ‘I’m pregnant’ time. Also I have realised years later that some of my mistake was not asking for the help, me and my husband would bitch and moan that we only get a date night once or twice a year but then we never actually outright asked anyone for help, we just waited for them to offer.
