Forward facing 🥲

I’m kind of at a loss here. My son continues to take his chest clip off and squirm his arms out to be able to look around. The straps are tight and I buckle his appropriately and he’s still unbuckling the chest clip and struggling his way out of the straps.
My older son is 8 so he’s obviously sized out of his car seats and my younger son wants to be able to look around like him I think??
I guess my question is would it just be safer for me to forward face him rather than him continuing to unbuckle himself?

To add yes I do pull over every time and fix him though I fear within 2 minutes he’s back to doing it.

How old is your younger son? How much does he weigh?

I’d agree with your question - it would be safer for him to be fully strapped into a forward facing than to be improperly secured in a rear-facing.

Not a CPST but we can be realistic :)

I’d say yes. Especially if that’s the reason. Depending on your state you most likely could switch him. But I think there are also like check lock clips that you could use but idk how safe they actually are

Mine is also doing the same thing 😩 the best advice from the car seat safety group is to put a button up shirt over 😪

Contact naps

I know contact naps at 2 weeks old are absolutely normal, but if your baby doesn’t contact nap and is perfectly happy falling asleep on their own… how do you do it?? My little one at the moment will only nap with me if swaddled, rocked and on me, which is exhausting and rather painful if I stand for too long… what’s your trick?!

Jealous

Is anyone else really jealous and just annoyed when other people are holding your baby?

Like when my baby is crying or fussy, please hand them back to me… also getting really annoyed when people are begging to watch my baby alone.. 🥴 like why do you want my baby so bad type of thing?…

If so, did you ever get better with your emotions and learned to trust people with your baby?.. I just can’t imagine letting someone else care for my child as my parents themselves never handed me off to anyone unless it was blood family..
