I had a terrible first pregnancy. High risk from the go and major placenta Previa causing issues and hospital stays from week 22, ending in a 34+6 weeks delivery via c section. I delivered at Watford general which I had originally registered with. However up until week 28 was sent to any other hospital with level 3 NICU units which meant spending a lot of time far from home and causing me lots of stress.
I’m now pregnant with my second child and obviously won’t know if I’ll have any similar issues until a bit later in my pregnancy. Luton & Dunstable is the only hospital near me with level 3 NICU care but we’re rated inadequate in summer 2025 and as far as I can tell have not had a revisit yet. So I take the risk with them considering my situation or do I register with Watford/lister who have slightly better ratings but not higher than level 2 NICU care?

I’ve never been to lister but I have given birth in Watford twice - I had multiple complications including pre eclampsia twice and also shoulder dystocia and honestly I’d go back again if I lived nearby still. The way they handled the shoulder dystocia was really really impressive and I’m thankful they handled it so well as I came out of it safe along with my baby
