Early pregnancy anxiety

Hi all!
I am currently 5 weeks and 4 days, pregnant with my first child, and I have such bad anxiety about something going wrong 😔
Just so worried about miscarrying or having an ectopic pregnancy.

Any tips or advice, or anyone in a similar situation?
Thanks!

I'm taking each day as it comes, in fact splitting the day into morning, afternoon and evening and planning activities and routine around it, to keep me engaged and busy. I'm a first time mum too, and week 6+5ish to now 7+1 I've barely had any symptoms I was having (other than exhaustion) which freaked me out a bit, but taking a step back and riding the rollercoaster of hormones and symptoms, it's made me feel okay again, knowing there will be peaks and troughs of how I'm feeling, how symptoms will manifest. Week 6 was my worst week by far. It's hard to not worry, but worry makes everything feel 100% harder, so anything you can do self care wise will support you, as well as speaking to others ❤️

Bless you, I remember this oh so well! I must have taken over 100 pregnancy tests before my 8 week scan (IVF). My daily mantra had to be worrying about it won't change the outcome either way. Sit with your feelings because then you notice there is also excitement and wonder about who they will be, you owe it to yourself to enjoy those emotions too :)

The anxiety doesn't go but it does change, 2nd trimester was so good for me! I loved it, I still had the underlying anxiety but I really could enjoy it for the most part.

You're doing great, feel all the feels ❤️

Have an early private scan if you can afford it. That will resolve most of it, and by week 8/9 you’ll feel better anyway as the anxiety eases over time

Just came here to say im 5+5 today with my first and also very anxious about the same things so you're not alone! I Just try to take solace in the fact that my body knows what its doing, I'm doing the best I can personally, and what is meant to be will be. But I also have an early private scan next week so I'm just trying to get myself to that 😅

In the exact same boat as you right now. Second pregnancy and 5 weeks 4 days. I wasn’t this anxious about the first one (3 years ago).

I have convinced myself that my symptoms are unusual and even reached out to the EPU. They booked me a scan for 6 weeks 4 days and I don’t know if that’s reassuring me or worrying me more because they felt a need to book me a scan 😭😂

needless to say I think the rollercoaster of emotions is part of the process. And more often than not, everything will be just fine ❤️

I’m 6 weeks 6 days and my anxiety is crazy I can’t stop thinking the worst! I had an early scan that showed nothing then an EPU 4 days later that showed me th head beat etc, I thought it would calm me down but still worrying about everything! X

Constant worry

Anyone else just constantly worried something bad is going to happen or something is going to be wrong with their baby? I am always thinking of the worst! My partner reminds me baby is happy and healthy and there’s nothing wrong but sometimes I just get overwhelmed and feel scared, I am always checking her! Someone tell me this passes - she is 12 days old

Apparently I’m to Fat

My ob quit so I had to get a new doctor. Today was the 1st appointment & he asked me my pre-pregnancy weight which was 165 and I now weigh 192 at 29 weeks. Guys the doctor wants me to stop eating bread, pasta, juice, icecream + more to slow my weight gain. For context I’m not high risk and everything is normal. I don’t want do it😭😭😭 Food is one of the only things I’ve still been enjoying pregnant

40+5...still pregnant (venting)

I can't take it anymore:
- haven't lost any mucus plug
- haven't had any period pain or backache
- drank liters of respberry leaf tea
- walked 2+ km per day
- deep cleaned the house
- rested enough
- took a very nice shower (even with the eat)
- taken care of myself
- eaten whatever I want

But this baby is still inside me! 😭

Birth guilt

Does anyone else feel a sense of birth guilt for their baby on how their baby was bought into the world? I planned on having a “natural” birth and ended up with an emergency c section but looking back 4 weeks later at how it all happened, I feel like my autonomy was taken away and maybe I felt slightly pressured into interventions by my partner and the midwifery team that ended up with the c section happening. After a slow labour, my progress stalled and the hormone drop was recommended - we didn’t get to this stage because after the epidural was put in, babies heart rate plummeted and I spiked a temperature. I just can’t help but wonder if I just trusted my body a bit more would it all have been ok?! It’s so annoying thinking like this as I know I can’t change it, I just keep looking at my baby and feeling so sad and hoping the way he was birthed won’t affect him. For context he wasn’t breathing when he was born as he was in shock and swallowed loads of Meconium so had to be resuscitated (it wasn’t long enough for any further care, they seemed happy with his scores after 5 mins but it still makes me sad). For the first couple of weeks I was making peace with the fact it didn’t go to plan as he is with us and seemingly ok, but as time is going on I find myself feeling worse and feeling so anxious about his development and brain and health and I know it’s all overthinking but it’s hard. Anyone else have similar feelings/experiences? Or anyone else have a traumatic birth for the baby and have positive stories on how they are now thriving? Sorry for the essay just wanted to put my feelings out somewhere x

Am I going insane for already wanting a second baby?!

My body feels fully healed and my body is craving another baby biologically!

I know it is not the best economical timing nor the best timing spacewise when we live in a 2-bed but part of me is urging for another child

I absolutely hated being pregnant and I am not looking forward to it whenever we decide to have our second baby - but my biological clock and my own baby makes me say; YUP, COME ON GIVE ME ANOTHER ONE!

Does anyone else have this at 6 months postpartum? 😂 best way I can describe it is like when I was addicted to smoking and craved a cigarette (horrible comparison but it is the best way I can describe it)
